On a special Friday the 13th show in September The Old Steeple presents The Work show,” stories and songs about getting a paycheck and more.  

The show, which is co-produced by storyteller/guitarist Jeff DeMark and music director Rick Levin, was performed to two sold out audiences at the Arcata Playhouse in February.

The stories are lively and humorous and quite varied.  Storytellers include michael Crowley, Janine Volkmar, jeff DeMark, Marvin Samuels, Richard “Doc” Stull, Diana Heberger, and Paul Bressoud. 

Some the songs to be performed are we Can Work it Out by the Beatles, Take this Job and shove it by Johnny Paycheck, Payday Zulúes by Dan Hicks, working in a Coalmine  by Lee Dorsey and a couple originals by Jeff DeMark. 

The musicians include Rick Levin, Ron sharp, Jean Browning, Paul and Jeff DeMark, Hamlimah Collingwood and Pat Comella.
